I'm doing it again

After a tiny bit more than 20 years I decided to start blogging again. This time it's not (only) about stupid stuff and random content found on the web but rather about my personal projects and thoughts.
My blogging journey started with a wordpress site, using the then en vogue theme "Kubrick". Two friends and started posting random interesting and funny things we found on the web. The site was published under the domain doofblog.tk. Those were the times were neither of my friends or me had a credit card, so we had to resort to using free domains and host the site on a crappy old computer we bought from a shady computer club (a story to be told some other time). The machine was running in my house's attic connected via our, not that unstable, cable internet connection. Since we didn't have a static IP-address, I had to write a little perl script that would periodically update the IP address at the domain registrar (if my recollections are correct). Actually the site was hosted as a subdomain of mine.nu and the .tk domain was only redirecting there.
It was the year 2005 and blogging was all the rage at the time we started our little publication. The luxembourgish blogosphere was composed of roughly five sites and we made sure to link to those sites though the so-called blog-roll, just a collection of links to other blogs. Another important feature was that you could leave comments on posts. If I remember correctly, you wouldn't need to log-in, since span only slowly became a problem (there were specific plugins against comment spam). One day, coming home from school, my mother told me someone from the newspaper "le jeudi" had called to know more about my blog. We somehow organized a phone call and in the end my blog was mentioned in a short article about the luxembourgish scene. What a blast!
For those who are curious what we posted back then, the internet archive has preserved some of our "writing" here. Unfortunately the design of the site did not survive archival.
So you see, I have quite a history, let's see if I can make it worth my and your wile again.
